Randall's Farm WLT

I popped into Randall's Farm this afternoon to see what hoverflies were around....quite a few species as it turns out, but the best sighting was my first dragonfly of the year, a male Hairy Dragonfly perched on Garlic Mustard. This is a very early date for this species, so it's worth a photo, even though it's a bit blurred!

  1. Hi,
I've just come across your site by accident and noticed that you've had Hairy Dragonfly already. Have you thought about posting the sighting on the British Dragonfly Society latest sightings page?

  2. Thanks for letting me know about this, Tom,

I've had a look at the website and notice that David Anderson, our Dragonfly Recorder for the County, has already posted it there.

But I'll make a note of the site for future reference. We move to the Isle of Wight in August...I guess I'll be able to pick up some fairly early species there next year!

    Best wishes,

    Stephen.
