Spotted Flycather
This Spotted Flycatcher was one of two hawking for flies at All Saints' churchyard in Freshwater early yesterday evening. I hope they have decided to settle down here because it's an ideal spot with various perches, both wooden and stone. In one of the sequences you can see a brief clip of the bird following the path of a large black fly that executes a close but fast fly-by. I imagine him thinking, "No, you're not worth it!!"
How lovely to see them.
ReplyDeleteThey're brilliant birds!
